40 years old 39 (again).
I just took Chemistry 101 because I just couldn’t ever do it. I’m in school right now – hoping to enter a nursing program. I should have done this when I was 19, but as they say, better late than never.
Its August 1st and I just dusted off my ice cream maker today.
And the BEST chocolate sauce I have ever had.
You know what… THEY were right.
Recipe~Fresh Strawberry Ice Cream
1 pint strawberries, sliced
1 cup sugar, divided
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 cups half and half
Mix strawberries, vanilla and 1/3 cup sugar in a medium size bowl. Mash and let sit for at least an hour to macerate.
Whisk half and half and the rest of the sugar until sugar is dissolved. Strain strawberry juice into the milk mixture and pour into ice cream maker and mix according to manufacturer’s directions. During the last 5 minutes pour in the strawberry chunks. Enjoy with chocolate sauce!
