Tis the season for colds people.
I was sitting at work today listening to someone across the cubicle sea literally hacking up a lung.
No one stays home when they are sick anymore. Our world is a busy place and everyone thinks they cannot miss a beat, and even if they are sick they must. keep. going.
When it comes to sickness, my philosophy has always been to heal myself and my loved ones with food. I do not believe in cold medicines and I try to limit any medicine outside of a high fever.
So when a cold kicks in, I turn to Vitamin C.
No, not in a tablet form, although that is a perfectly acceptable way of getting your Vtamin C uptake, but I turn to food.
We all know about oranges being high in Vitamin C so definitely drink that OJ but don’t forget about your veggies!
Sweet peppers have the highest amount of Vitamin C of all vegetables when they are cooked followed closely by broccoli and brussel sprouts!
So, if you are feeling a bit under the weather, fill up on juice, and big bowls of veggies. Kick that cold in the butt!
